Patch pockets look simple, but getting them to look crisp, flat, and perfectly even on both sides is where the skill is. In this tutorial, I show you how to sew an invisible patch pocket, also called a bluff patch pocket, without a lining.

Why this pocket looks so clean
A bluff patch pocket gives you that tailored, intentional finish because there is no visible topstitching around the pocket edge. The pocket looks almost integrated into the garment.
I demonstrate the technique on a knit (for the Christy Cardigan) and on a woven (for the Freja Vest), but you can apply it to many other garments. Plus I share my best tips for perfectly identical pockets every time! In the video, I walk you through the method step by step so you can replicate it with confidence.
