Dear readers,
I am so excited to finally introduce you to my newest pattern: the Naomi Dress!
I started working on Naomi early in the spring with the idea of a dress featuring self-fabric covered buttons and loops running down the center front. From there, we went through many iterations of skirt shapes, bodice proportions, and neckline options before finally arriving at the version you see today.
I loved the result so much that I wanted to take my time with the release and make sure everything was just right, though I’ll admit the summer break didn’t help speed things up! Now it’s a little late in my part of the world for a summer dress, but I believe there’s always room for Naomi. With the right styling, I know I’ll be wearing mine all through fall, and I can’t wait for it to make a comeback in the Portuguese spring.
Naomi is a modern take on a button-front dress, designed with delicate details that make it feel both polished and easy to wear. The bodice features a distinctive center front panel that extends into the skirt, creating a clean, continuous line. A row of self-covered functional buttons and loops runs down the front, finished with facings and a placket.
Shaping is achieved with released pleats at the bust and darts at the back. The skirt flares gently from the waist with princess panels, while the bodice is fully lined for a clean finish inside and out.
Pattern pieces all include a cutting line for a blouse-length version. An invisible zipper can be added at the side seam of either the dress or the blouse to make it more practical for everyday wear.
Naomi is available in two size ranges: 34–46, drafted for a B/C cup and featuring two pleats at the bust, and 46–60, drafted for a DD cup with three pleats to better accommodate more bust shaping.
What’s Included
Just like with all my patterns, Naomi comes with everything you need to create a high-quality, professional-looking garment:
- Sizes 34-60 with cup sizes B/C and DD
- Layered PDF files: Print-at-home (A4/US Letter), A0, and Projector versions
- Lined bodice for a polished finish
- Dress or blouse lengths
- Optional side zip to make it easier to put on and off
- Detailed instructions and a curated Resource Page with tutorials for the trickier steps
- Seam allowances included in the pattern pieces
- Options to print only your size with the Adobe Acrobat “layers” function
For this pattern, I recommend light to mid-weight woven fabrics with good drape such as linen and linen blends, viscose or silk crepe, or tencel twill.
I am 5'3 (1m60) and I wear the olive linen-viscose blend and the white linen blouse in size 34 with no modifications. Lilli is wearing a 100% linen pink sample in size 52 with no modifications. Pauline wears the blouse version in cotton chambray in size 46 of the 46–60 size range with the waist shaping removed.
The Naomi Dress is 15% off for one week only. And if you’re a newsletter subscriber, you can enjoy an additional 10% off the entire store with the code JUSTNAOMI (use the same email you are registered with at checkout).

This is a beautiful dress. However, I need the smaller dress size but a larger cup size than C (I need a DD). Why not offer that?
