The pattern file named “Print at home” is compatible with printers using A4 or US Letter paper. All patterns are layered PDF files, and you can select and print only the sizes you need. To avoid printing issues, make sure of the following:
- Open the pattern on a computer (rather than a phone or a tablet) with the free software Adobe Acrobat Reader, not your internet browser.
- On the right side of the screen, click on the “Layers” icon. Keep the sizes you need checked in addition to “all sizes” and “base”.
- In the “File” menu, select “Print” and ensure that the size options are set to 100% with no scaling.
- Start by printing the first page and checking the size of the test rectangle before printing the entire file.
- You can also use the file named “Copyshop” to have it printed on A0 paper. Files are not protected, and print shops can also use Adobe Reader to print them.
Sew
All patterns include the seam allowances, but the amount of seam allowance varies depending on the construction method. Review the order of construction and the detailed instructions to determine their value for each seam.
Just Patterns customers are dressmakers who already know the basics of sewing. If you need more help to complete specific steps, I curate a list of helpful resources and tutorials for each pattern.
