Sybil Sweatshirt – PDF Sewing Pattern

Sybil is a refined knit sweatshirt that combines the comfort of an oversized fit with a wide lapel collar, giving a subtle nod to tailoring.

The oversized body paired with a deep V-neckline and sleeves that narrow at the hem makes it the perfect layering piece across seasons. It can be worn out or tucked in, adding interest to your casual outfits or a playful touch to your officewear.

It can also be worn as a blouse, without an underlayer. In that case, I recommend sizing down and securing the neckline with a handstitch.

Clean construction details can be achieved with an overlocker or regular sewing machine using a stretch stitch. A coverstitch machine is not required for this pattern. Sybil is available in two size ranges: 34–46, drafted for a B/C cup and featuring two pleats at the bust, and 46–60, drafted for a DD cup.

For this pattern, I recommend stable to medium-weight knits with structure and recovery, such as Milano knit, ponte, double knit, interlock, or sweater knit. Fabrics with less stretch will accentuate the architectural collar, while those with more drape will create a softer appearance.

I am 5'3 (1m60) and I wear the grey Milano version and the oatmeal sweater knit samples in size 34 with no modifications. Lilli is wearing the brown Milano sample in size 50 with no changes. Pauline wears the red sample in size 46 of the 34-46 size range with the arms lengthened.
