Introducing the Eva Skirt

Dear readers,

Back in the spring, I fell in love with the idea of a linen skirt grazing the ankles. I could see myself wearing it anywhere and everywhere. There was something about the ease, the movement, and the way it caught the light that felt just right. Romantic but still minimalist. Or at least as romantic as I get since I’m not exactly a ruffles and bows kind of person.

That’s how the Eva Skirt came to life.

And now that I have several versions closet, this is one of those garments that just works. It pairs with everything, whether it's the oversized and cropped Tyra Tee or the just released relaxed Kate Tee. My most unexpected and favorite styling is with the Freja Vest. There is something unexpected but refined about this pairing. Whether you’re strolling through the city or heading to dinner, Eva adds just the right amount of movement and polish.

This ankle-length A-line skirt is available in two views and designed to highlight beautiful fabrics through thoughtful, minimalist design. Both versions sit at the natural waist and are finished with a clean-facing. The hem is narrow and delicate for a refined finish.

View A is bias-cut, creating a fluid drape that gently skims the body. With only side seams and a left side invisible zipper, this view offers a streamlined silhouette that feels effortless to wear.

View B is constructed with eight gores, with subtle flare added below the hips for extra movement and swish. It closes with an invisible zipper at the center back.

Eva is available in a continuous size range from 34 to 60, making it extra easy to grade between sizes and achieve a custom fit. All pattern pieces include lengthen and shorten lines, helping you get both the perfect fit and the perfect swish no matter your height or fabric choice.

This pattern was designed for woven fabrics with drape such as linen and linen blends, silk crepe, charmeuse, viscose, and lightweight wool suiting.

For the samples, I wear View A in a dark green heavy linen and in satin viscose, both in size 34. I also made View B in a lightweight brown linen in size 36. Pauline wears her rust viscose crepe version of View B in size 50 at the waist graded to 46 at the hips, and Lilli wears the light green linen version in size 52 at the waist graded out to 54 at the hips.
